I find it is a very natural thing to want to fit in, be liked, be LOVED and accepted by those around you, even when meeting people for the first time. We have been trained socially from an early age to 'make a good impression' and to want to have people like us - even if that comes at the expense of changing or editing who we are. 

In this article, the author shares why this approach backfires and has the opposite effect of what we are looking to achieve. He goes a step forward to outline the psychological reasons we do this and gives tips on how to simply embrace who you are.
